Zoom sur le Brandalism Project, une initiative qui rassemble une vingtaine d’artistes d’horizons et de disciplines divers. Parmi ceux-ci: Know Hope (ISR), OX (FR), Ron English (US), Bill Posters (UK) ou encore BLA+ (ITA). L’idée motrice part du mot “brandalism”, inventé par Sean Tejaratchi et popularisé par Banksy, et vise la ré-appropriation, par l’art, des espaces d’affichage public monopolisés à des fins exclusivement commerciales et propagandistes. Les membres du collectif ont ainsi parcouru le Royaume-Uni pour s’emparer d’une quarantaine de panneaux parmi les 100 000 disponibles dans le pays. Forts de cet élan, les 24 street artistes, issus de 8 pays, ont décidé d’ouvrir un site web et de poursuivre l’aventure. Une démarche citoyenne ponctuée d’un slogan: Love to disobey and disobey to love!
